preparation anxiety.
Will I get it all done? What will I forget? What did I already forget?
As I tried to get things ready around the house while tying up loose ends at work, I could feel it coming on. The anxiety attack.
After my morning cleaning, work, lunch with a friend (a bright, relaxing spot even if I worried about the time), cleaning up puppy puke on the carpet (his monthly preventative doesn’t really agree with him, poor pup), volunteering at the Red Cross, and more work, I could feel my body starting to relax.
Still had to take the puppy to boarding — he perked up immensely when we pulled into the lot, return books to the library, get Chloe out the door to her flute lesson.
But I checked each thing off the list (I have great lists), even had time for the issues at work that arose during the day.
After Chloe came home from her flute lesson, we packed. And my packing pros were awesome. Not to mention my amazing packing list.
Final touches to the itinerary. Anxiety is melting away. For now.
It’ll be back once I am faced with wrangling a rental car down Irish roads, I’m sure.
