camping: me and my puppy
A couple weekends ago, I did something that I’ve never done before.
I packed up Evie with me and Phelix, and we went off on our own little adventure.
For years, my adventures almost always included the girls. I’ve gone on a couple of trips without them, but not off on my own. I’ve always had friends, family or coworkers to be with.
While taking care of an energetic pup while camping can hardly be called relaxing, I did enjoy my solitude.I made huge strides on a number of my “projects”, even without the internet. In fact, I could have used a couple more days, but a weekend is all I could spare. Maybe I’ll get the chance to do it again soon, but I don’t think it is likely. Between having to make sure the girls get where they need to go, work, and taking care of things at home, I just don’t get bloacks of time where I’m free to do my own thing.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to pursue my own interests here at home. Volunteering at the Red Cross, working with the CAPS in Decatur, and other things I can do locally and get small bits of time for myself.
