Last week while I was under a deadline, Kat at Sunshine and Lemonade tagged me for a meme. My first. So…here are the rules:1. Link back to the person who tagged you. (Check)2. Post these rules on your blog. (Check)3. Share six unimportant things about yourself4. Tag six random people at the end of your…

Driving Fun
Each week, when we come home from homeschool classes, we see the same trash truck pulled up on the grass across the street from the QT. We’re guessing that our return is timed with the QT-break. Twice now, we’ve seen the guys by the truck toss their wrappers/bags on the ground. Are you kidding me?…
Gymnastics Misery
I woke up with a headache. As the day progressed, so did the headache. Responsibilities don’t stop, however. I got the girls to homeschool classes and managed to get quite a bit done while there. Back at home, I took some aspirin, but the headache remained. Driving to gymnastics was exhausting with as much energy…
Rainy Day
Today, I spent some time catching up. A friend came over for a few hours to visit during the middle of the day. Tonight, the girls have friends sleeping over. So I haven’t gotten as much done as much as I had hoped, but the to-do list is shrinking at least. I may get enough…
Going Home
No not today. Nor tomorrow. But Friday. And I’m more than ready. I look forward to seeing my family and sleeping in my bed.
Headlines
Why, oh, why is the article Kenyan Rivals Sign Power-Sharing Agreement a minor headline in the Washington Post while the article A Pet Owner’s Final Choice is top news?? I go to the Washington Post for my “real world news” as opposed to the AJC, but maybe I need to find a better source?

XMKids
As is not uncommon around here, I started a new blog a couple of weeks ago. This time one about XMKids. We got XM as a Christmas present to ourselves this year, and the girls and I have really enjoyed listening in. The new blog is at http://xmkidsfans.blogspot.com/.
Blog Photos
In preparation for 2008, I renamed my Daily Photo album on Picasa to Daily Photo 2007. Apparently, Picasa renamed the directory, so many of the photos in the blog now have broken links. The Googlers surely could have come up with a better system than that! Oh well. It’s a wet morning here in Atlanta….

Though it usually looks like that, I admit I stopped to remove two files that Rob put there yesterday while applying for a FCC license of some sort having to do with the “compliated” (as Chloe says) walkie-talkies I bought for the kids for Christmas. The license is good for everyone remotely related to him,…

100 Feeds
Whoa. I have one hundred feeds in my bloglines account now. Not all are active feeds, but it still seems like a huge number! Almost half are related to children’s music, of course. Mostly, I enjoy this easy way of keeping up-to-date with friends who are near and far.
YAB (Yet Another Blog)
I’ve had too many people tell me that they can’t figure out which blog is my “real” blog. There are a few issues:1. I like to start blogs more than I like to maintain them.2. Each blog host has a different set of features that I like. I wish one blog company would have them…
It’s the End
of NaBloPoMo. Now the question is, do I continue on with Holidailies? Maybe. Things are going to get busy this month, though. We don’t have any trips planned, but I am not against considering last minute trips. Oh, well, Chloe and I are probably going to Columbia, SC, on Saturday, but that’s less then four…
holiday traffic, oh my!
Today didn’t go much better than yesterday. My code wouldn’t compile, the dishwasher broke (so I had to wash a full load of dishes with baked on food by hand), the fridge continued to act strange (sometimes when the compressor starts up the fridge clicks and ALL the lights in the house flicker), the new…
best of intentions
Well, I had hoped that I would get a lot done today. Scrapbooks, a music review, leaves in the yard..these all need to be taken care of. But instead, I spent the day reading, doing a little scrapbooking, and hanging out with the kids. The girls spent the day making fairy houses out of odds…
stop means stop
It is the first month of school. But I cannot believe that so many people have forgotten that when a school bus is flashing its red lights, it means stop. Yesterday, I spotted an oncoming bus with yellow flashing lights. It stopped and so did I. The taxi behind it passed this bus whose red…
upward is better than homeward?
As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Washington Post ran an editorial on June 18 entitled “Unleashing the Wrath of Stay-at-Home Moms”. In this Linda Hirshman defends her earlier article “Homeward Bound” in The American Prospect. My first reaction to the Washington Post article was extreme anger. Stepping back from my desire to immediately…
The Mommy Wars part II
A couple of weeks ago, I finished reading The Truth Behind the Mommy Wars by Miriam Peskowitz. While Ms. Peskowitz made some very interesting points, I did not feel that the book offered enough concrete solutions to the current social problem of the lack of choices in balancing family and work. She claims that the…
