Gazoo enjoyed the quite midday while the girls were gone but I was home to let her in and out as she pleased. What a life!

Chloe loves her fencing class on Thursdays …

Chloe claims that Gazoo was playing spy but that her ears gave her away.
gardening – 22 feb 2011
A gorgeous day here in Pine Lake! Chloe was inspired to work in the garden for a bit…
swinging – 16 feb 2011
Another gorgeous and productive day. Two more dentist appointments over with and lots of homeschooling done. A nice walk around town and some time at the playground.
email – 15 feb 2011
The day got away from me because of our last minute trip to Chloe’s dentist (cavity-free is she!). But I did manage to take a couple photos with my phone — Chloe had to send a quick email thanking her friends for sending her sock back to her from their house.
gazoo – 11 feb 2011
Last night and this morning were hard for Gazoo as she had to spent so much energy setting up her Facebook site. You can friend her at Gazoo Butera on Facebook.

What is it with that cat? She just *has* to put herself right in the middle of whatever it is we are doing. Here she’s hijacked Camille’s homeschooling….
dinner – 7 feb 2011
Busy all day without stopping, not even to take one photo. Camille made bread; I made soup. Chloe ate both.
pizza night – 4 feb 2011
A couple of months ago, I decided that Fridays would be homemade pizza nights whenever we are home. Camille generally prepares the pizza dough. This week, she used a recipe recommended by a friend Best Pizza Dough Ever Recipe. She didn’t quite manage to follow the directions, but the pizza was very good … I’m…

Panic as we left the house — Chloe’s keens were in the washing machine since they were still soaked (and stinky) from our walk in the pouring rain along Canal Street in New Orleans the other day. She had “given away” her sneakers. The only closed-toe shoes left in her possession? Her rain boots. While…
new orleans – 1 feb 2011
We spent our day in a small bit of New Orleans. Rob’s hotel is in the financial district — it must have been some type of bank, originally. Though why a bank needed 16 (20?) foot ceilings, I’m not sure.
streetcar – 31 jan 2011
What to do on a gorgeous Monday in New Orleans with kids? The zoo, aquarium and insectarium are all closed…. We rode the Canal Street Ferry to Gretna and back. We walked along the river down to Cafe du Monde and had beignets. We wandered through the French Market. Now what? I bought us all…
camille – 30 jan 2011
Camille and Chloe enjoyed hanging out at out friends’ house in Mississippi this morning. Not only were there nice trees to climb, but there were tons of beautiful camellias!
gazoo – 26 jan 2011
As much as the girls pick on her, Gazoo loves it when we are home. Camille wrapped her up in a newly knitted shawl while she relaxed on the couch.
chloe cooking – 24 jan 2011
Chloe loves to help out in the kitchen, chopping veggies for our soup.
camille – 22 jan 2011
Today we spent most of the day on the farm in Maryland with our friends. Camille worked on learning to needle felt; Chloe played all day with the boys. We had a nice walk in the evening and rounded up the escaped rooster.
camille – 18 jan 2011
The girls are both very happy to be back home and back to homeschooling! It had been a long time since they had done lessons that they were missing them…
Hi Chloe! Bye Chloe!
As I sit here in the hotel room with the sliding door open, I can hear not only the wind and the waves, but the action at the pool three stories down (on the seventh floor — the “in ground” pool is on the seventh floor). What do I hear? Everyone who walks by saying…
camille – 14 jan 2011
Once again, I couldn’t get the girls to a museum. It was pool, beach and (ugh) tv all day. Thankfully, mostly it was beach and pool. I even got to read half of my book while at the pool! I never want to leave. Days of work them beach and pool are my heart’s desire….
