Photo taken in Panama City Beach, FL, on 8 Aug 2010. Yes, I realize that it is not Friday, but Thursday. However, I’ve decided to begin submitting my weekly contribution to the Photo Friday contest (not that my photos are in the same league with the other entries), and the submissions are due by midnight.

Tightrope Walking
Chloe’s week at Circus Camp involved lots of tightrope walking, literally and figuratively (see Circus, or is that Drama, Camp). Despite the drama, Chloe did have a great time and looks forward to going again next year and maybe even taking aerial lessons as she gets older and stronger.
emotions
Chloe has always been a monkey, climbing whatever she can find — support pole in the basement, swingset in the playground, the car. Not surprisingly, going to gymnastics class is of her most favorite things to do. She’s ready to head to class far earlier than she needs to be and forces me out…
camping out
for our upcoming weekend at LEAF, we splurged on a new tent. Last fall when I took the girls to LEAF without Rob, the three of us barely fit in our old wedding present tent. And the rain, oh the rain, came splashing in on us. So I had Rob buy a new, bigger tent…
new blog
like mother, like daughter! Camille has been hard at work all this week scanning all of her manga drawings and putting them up on a new blog. I hope she’ll keep up the project now that she’s started it. Manga Transform
our Christmas tree grew legs
all i want for christmas
is my two front teeth. yep, she lost another. unfortunately, the tooth fairy went broke on the last one, so some piggy banks will have to get broken for this one. and I just wonder what Chloe will quiz the tooth fairy about tonight???
dear tooth fairy
at the concert yesterday, chloe lost a tooth. As usual, she put it under her pillow. In the past, she has been known to leave a note, asking the tooth fairy something about herself. Chloe has learned that her tooth fairy’s name is Penelope. Well, last night the tooth fairy arrived and found not just…
you’re grounded!
last night the girls and I called our kitty Gazoo in at the usual time — when it starts to get dark. She didn’t come. Unusual for her to not come, but not unheard of. As the night got later, we became more and more concerned. Rob and the girls searched all the nearby streets;…
chloe’s kayaking trip
on Sunday, Rob took Chloe down to Pine Lake for a trial run in the kayak. Apparently, she had a fantastic time out on our tiny little lake. She got to go out to Harry’s Island and walk around it; I don’t think many in Pine Lake have ever been out there! She’s looking forward…
happy birthday, camille!
Yikes! A week has gone by without my updating the blog….I guess I’ve been preoccupied with other things, like getting us to Austin and working. Last Saturday, Camille turned 11! To celebrate, we tried to get her a new passport, but that plan was quickly scratched. Instead, we went out for brunch at Thumbs Up….
Photos by Gazoo
The girls read about a pet collar cam a while back, and I promised them to look into it. I found only one, offered on various sites, and the reviews were quite mixed. I bought it knowing that it could break on first wearing — it is not waterproof. It arrived in our mailbox (no…
Camille’s Ring
When Camille was 5.5 and Chloe 1, we went to Ireland for a friend’s wedding. We stayed in Salthill, near the beach. Between us and Galway was Claddagh. Camille really wanted a Claddagh ring, and we, amazingly enough, found one small enough for her little finger. The ring came along with a little book that…
Tootie’s in the House
One of the things that the girls love to do when Rob’s home for the weekend is to get him to take them skating at the nearby rink. Apparently, neither one has really been able to skate unassisted, until now. On Sunday, Rob took the girls and one of their friends. Chloe refused to let…
Capital 10K
On Sunday, we woke early and headed down to Austin. Barbara, Phil, Jim and Marty were planning to walk, Suze and Luis to run, the girls and I to drink coffee and cheer them all on. (In the end, Jim chose to run.) It was FREEZING early, so as the race started, I ended with…
Happy Birthday, Grandma!
On Saturday, the girls and I got up early and headed to the airport in the rain for our 8:40 flight. The weather was bad, but not bad enough to delay the flight. The plane was tiny, so Camille had to sit in the row ahead of Chloe and me. There was a medical emergency…

The Girls
Even with all the craziness that I put them through, they are still pretty cool kids….
Circus Career On Hold
Wii Fit came into our live a couple of weeks ago, and the kids can’t get enough of it. Camille loves the step aerobics and hula hooping games. Chloe loves ski jumping. But both of them love the tightrope walking. Yesterday, Chloe decided to take this virtual skill and test it out in reality. She…
Chloe’s Big Adventure
On Monday, Camille and I dropped Chloe and Barbara off at the airport. Chloe fit all her clothes, her pencils and DS in her new backpack on wheels. She is quite the seasoned traveler, and it shows. She and Barbara headed off through security and passed time in the Admirals Club (must be nice). She…
