Steamboatyesterday, first thing in the morning, rob called the ski school up at the mountain and made reservations for the girls for a day of lessons on Monday. That done, he headed out to rent a snowboard for himself and then came back and took the girls up to the mountain to get all the paperwork done and skis rented for them. He then headed back to the mountain for an afternoon of snowboarding.

TrudgingBarbara, Phil, the girls and I headed into Steamboat Springs for lunch. We ended up at a pizza place that had a buffet; Joel and Jonathan joined us there for lunch. The lunch was so huge that the girls and I had no need to eat dinner. After lunch, we drove up to the library and parked. We trudged around in the snow looking at the different hot springs. Chloe even helped Barbara find a geocache near one of the springs.

We then put on our snowshoes and tromped around in the park for a bit. Chloe had a blast trudging from one place to another. Once she reached the steamboat playground, she took off her snowshoes and climbed on it. Camille was pretty wet and cold at this point (neither girl had put on their snow pants for the initial trudging), but she put on a good face and tried to enjoy herself.

Back at Jim and Marty’s, I had the girls get ready for bed very early and watch a little tv. Ski school starts early!
